OUR STUDENTS

University of the People comprises instructors and students from all over the world, truly making our University one of global proportions. We are proud to announce that not only is our student body growing and expanding to all corners of the globe, but our student satisfaction rate is also rapidly increasing.


We currently have admitted more than 1500 students from 135 countries. Approximately 56% of our students are enrolled in the Business Administration program, and 44% are studying in the computer Science program. Our students range from ages 18 to 72, with an average age of 32.

Completing programs that offer academic degrees has become a real and attainable opportunity at University of the People. University of the People provides access to structured, tuition-free online degree-level programs in Business Administration and Computer Science. UoPeople accepts qualified applicants who have successfully graduated from high school, have access to a computer and Internet and have sufficient English skills to complete the English-only courses offered by UoPeople. Essentially, UoPeople offers those who complete their program with a tuition-free online degree.

 

Comprised of students from around the world, the student body learns through the support of instructors with the aid of peer-to-peer learning. Within the online study communities, students share resources, exchange ideas, discuss weekly topics, submit assignments, and take exams.
 

The corresponding tuition-free online degree programs offered by UoPeople functions effectively on a limited budget without sacrificing the quality of education by encouraging collaborative learning and using open-source e-learning principles.

 

The curriculum itself is supported by respected scholars who participate in class discussions and oversee the assessment process.  They also develop ongoing procedures for curriculum development and evaluation.

 

A community of educators comprised of active and retired professors, and other professionals participate in the educational activity. They also take part in developing the ongoing procedures for curriculum evaluation and development.

 

UoPeople offers tuition-free education, and charges only processing fees for Applications and Examinations. The Application Processing Fee is between $10-$50 as adjusted on a sliding scale based on the economic situation in each applicant’s country or place of residence. Additionally, beginning with all new applications started August 27, 2012, UoPeople has implemented an Exam Processing Fee of $100 per course. Students unable to pay the Exam Processing Fee may apply for a scholarship.
