University of the People has decided to waive all Exam Processing fees for its students at this stage but reserves the right to change this policy in subsequent terms.
University of the People is a tuition-free, non-profit institution. We will remain tuition-free, meaning students will never be charged for their educational instruction, course materials or annual enrollment.
There are two areas, application and exam processing, which require modest fees. Fees charged go towards covering the cost for UoPeople to process applications as well as exams. These fees are charged on a sliding scale, based on the applicant/student’s place of residence, in order that applicants/students from lower income countries pay less:
Exam Processing Fee – An exam processing fee is not yet implemented. However, when implemented, students will be required to pay an end-of-course examination processing fee at the completion of each course. The processing fee will range from $10 to $100 per exam based on the student’s place of residence. For detailed information of either the application processing fee or the exam processing fees, as well as the University Grant amount awarded per country, please review the University Catalog.
The determination of processing fees, as well as any University Grants, is at the sole discretion of UoPeople. University Grants and processing fees are currently determined using publicly available data from the World Bank and the CIA World Fact Book. Inclusion of a place of residence in the list does not imply any legal position of University of the People regarding its status. UoPeople reserves the right to change the method of determining University Grants or processing fees without notice, potentially resulting in additional processing fees or reduced University Grants in the future.
